- Find an English radio or TV channel. Listen or watch it for about fifteen minutes. Every day you will understand a little more and you will get used to the sound of the language.
- Read an online article on the internet, for example an article from a newspaper or magazine. Don’t worry if you don’t understand everything the first time, the more you read, the more you will understand.
- Put your Facebook account, game console, phone, TV, or whatever technology you use in English. It’s a great way to immerse yourself in the language.
- Have a short conversation with someone who speaks English.
- Buy a phrasebook and learn five phrases a day. You will be surprised at the vocabulary you will retain day after day.
- Watch a series or movie with English subtitles.
- Subscribe to an English magazine.
- Make English speaking friends, you can practice the language more often.
- Do not be afraid to make mistakes, it is by trying that you will feel most comfortable.
- Sign up for a British Council MOOC (Massive Open Online Course). Find a topic that interests you and take advantage of free online English lessons.
